Completion 5 Weeks ahead of Schedule - Le Mont de Sainte Marie

Le Mont de Sainte Marie will be reopened to road users on the evening of 4th March 2011, 5 weeks ahead of schedule, thanks to the progress made by Geomarine Ltd on behalf of Transport and Technical Services.

In all, 500 metres of road edge improvement was undertaken from just above the Moulin De Lecq pub on Le Mont de Sainte Marie extending south. The works comprised the reinstatement of the road edge using reinforced earth methods, with the introduction of kerbs and surface water gullies.

The contract was awarded to Geomarine Ltd following a competitive tender process. As well as being delivered 4 weeks sonner than expected, the project is due to come in within budget.

Connetable Mike Jackson, Minister for Transport and Technical Services, said "TTS is pleased to reopen this important tourist road, 5 weeks ahead of programme. I would like to take this opportunity to thank local businesses and residents for their ongoing patience during the works."
